Re: Me 109, Johnson Spit & P-51 in stock

I think that old saying about a picture being worth a thousand words is an understatement here..Great shots, Shuttle...Really accentuates the difference between a model of a Mustang and whatever that thingy with the tabletop cowl is that Corgi puts out..Thanks..

Re: Me 109, Johnson Spit & P-51 in stock

I unpacked the Mustang tonight and took some quick shots. Again, I was very impressed with the overall model. A great tooling, nice paint job and an new mark of Mustang!! I like the option of two types of drop tank and the moving control surfaces are goos, not too much of a gimmick. Next to a Corgi Mustang, the Gemini Jets more than holds it's own and to be honest, there isn't to much between them in terms of level of detail. The aerial seems to be the only 'issue'.

Thought there has been a load of 'hype' about these GJ models, I wasn't expecting them to be generations ahead of Witty, Corgi or Dragon. I think they complement the Corgi range superbly and as they are a 'first attempt' I know we have much more to look forward to. The next releases are really tempting, with the Galland Me-109 and the RAF Mustang. Also, the cost is now a big factor - Corgi, think on.....

I have added the best Corgi Mustang into the pictures as a comparison - 'Twilight Tear'. Seeing this fabulous machine flying was a real treat on Sunday at Duxford. Gemini, please release 'Princess Elizabeth' A.S.A.P!!!

Shuttle

I would absolutely FLIP if they did Princess Elizabeth!!! I have the decals for this plane in 1/72 but have yet to do the model I have of the P-51 B/C. I am probably going to have to do it soon???

Grim Reaper,
Hey there.

From what I recall, Gemini is planning on one livery a month per plane. They are bound to get to your choice pretty soon.

Thumbs up Re: Me 109, Johnson Spit & P-51 in stock

I picked up one of the P-51B's last weekend. Very nice, rather comparable in quality to the Dragon stuff. I like it and well hey it's a 51 B!!!! I passed on the 109 and Spitfire, they just didn’t seem too different from other I have.

Good pictures Shuttle. It really points out what a P-51 nose is supposed to look like, and not supposed to look like. And the nose is just the MAIN problem. I just can't help but chuckle when I see a Corgi Mustang.

Re: Me 109, Johnson Spit & P-51 in stock

I dropped by biggunscollectibles in Sanford, Florida today and checked these planes out. I was a skeptic until today. The Spitfire is the best in my opinion followed by the 109. I am still trying to get over the enlarged pilots but the detail and heft is remarkable. I do hope Gemini does minor adjustments to the crew and arials of a couple of the planes but I must say the planes are really nice up close. I am holding off for now as i am anxious to see releases 2 and three before diving in and e-baying my cheap imitations of these jobbies. Good job Gemini you may very well make alot of us poor but I would rather have few great models than many average ones.

Very good pictures Shuttle.
You can really see the nose on both of the makes..
These Gemini P-51B Mustangs will only get better.

Angry Re: Me 109, Johnson Spit & P-51

One livery a month....Geeze.

That's not a good thing!

And I thought that Dragon was going to ruin the market.
