Re: New Flying Tigers Marseille "Yellow 14" Commission

Amen! I did it once for a Corgi 109E, but just can't justify that kind of thing more than once every year or so...Why can't there be more special runs in the US? Flying Tiger probably realized they won't get a lot of action across the Atlantic, so the run was kept down to 550.

Agree, sure would be nice to see something similar done on this side of the pond.

Re: New Flying Tigers Marseille "Yellow 14" Commission

Hi Guy's,

Thank you for the interest you have shown in our latest commission. I am also frustrated with the costs of shipping models Stateside and to Australia/New Zealand!

I just wanted to come on here and tell you that we only charge what we are charged! Our models are sent recorded Air Mail and as this will be an extremely rare and sought after model, I am sure you will agree that this method protects us all! With over 200 of these models ordered in the first 2 days, I am sure that there will not be many left, should posted models go astray!

If you would like us to send models by other cheaper methods, we are more than happy to talk to you. Unfortunately, this dramatically increases the risk of loss or damage and I am afraid this would have to be a peril shouldered by the purchaser, should he wish to select this postage method.

As a company, Flying Tigers tries extremely hard to provide our collectors with the best possible service. Our packing is second to none - as collectors ourselves, we know how important the box condition is, as well as the collectable contained within. The postage cost is simply what we are charged by the carrier - we don't even charge for our packing service! Rather than being poor value, our postage rates offer the collecter excellent value for money, for a first rate shipping service. We also do not believe in taking payment or deposits before your model is in stock and ready for dispatch - we think this is the fairest way to do business.

Finally, I really do sympathize with our overseas collectors - I know the cost of postage can be a killer! Please understand that we don't profit from our advertised postage rates - they are simply what we are charged! GALFTJG27A will be an absolute stunner and we are extremely grateful for the support shown by our overseas collectors already! Please e-mail me at aviation@flying-tigers.co.uk if you would like to discuss alternative shipping methods.

Sincerely

Flying Tigers

In my experience, you give excellent service. I only wish we were all trading in euros, and shipping was by those little vacuum systems -- stick it in the tube, and wham! its here. Your new '109 looks like it will be a great seller, and will probably be one of those models that everyone wishes he/she had purchased, while it was still available. (I'm keeping my options -- maybe June!)

Yes, this one is a must-have I'm afraid - I preordered it along with the upcoming GA Omega Phantom... which I hope is free from those first P-51B gaffs...

(and they don't charge you until the models are in stock... I think someone thought otherwise around here... just FYI.)

Postage, smostage!

Every once in a while, one has to make exceptions. This is certainly one of those situations---at least in my book. I pre-ordered "Yellow 14" as soon as I saw the offer.

Just out of curiosity, what does the postage on this one come out to? (US Dollars)

Hmmmnnn,,,,,Hmmnnnn, just might have to give this one some serious thought. $30.00 for shipping is not to bad considering it is coming form across the pond. Overall a little pricey, but overall a really great model to add too.

It varies slightly from day to day but the current figure is $26.45, approximately.
