Re: New Flying Tigers Marseille "Yellow 14" Commission

Gemini could do three other liveries of a Marseille's Bf-109F-Trop in addition to this one.

Osprey's Aircraft of the Aces 2 - Bf 109 Aces of North Africa and the Mediterranean has color profiles of four of Marseille's Bf109Fs.
  • The one Flying Tigers chose is color plate 17 on page 40 with 50 victory bars on the red rudder of Werk-Nr. 12 593.
  • Color plate 18 is Werk-Nr. 10 059 with 68 victory bars.
  • Color plate 19 is Werk-Nr. 10 137 with the number 70 wreathed and victory bars for his then 101 victories.
  • Color plate 20 is Werk-Nr. 8673, with the number 100 wreathed under crossed swords and victory bars showing 151 victories.
I wonder if this is the first of a special commission series of Marseille aircraft. Personally, Gemini would be nuts not to make at least one of the other three a regular release.

Crazy. I'm still torn. All my complaining is just me way of working it out.

Hopefully they have plans to do a couple of these.

Unless these are going to be available stateside, I can't justify getting this one from the UK (even though I'd really like one). If you want it, it'll run you $67.93 in the US dollars.

I was billed £29.99 when pre ordering mine convert that into $ & the US price does not seem that bad

Re: New Flying Tigers Marseille "Yellow 14" Commission

Yep - positive. I just put in Canada & US also - the £15 is standard international for one model $ £25.50 for 2

This just begs the question for me- can't we get a reduced postage rate if an order were placed with a large quantity of models? Economy of scale and all that. If 2 planes ordered saves close to $9 US over ordering one, would there not be a commensurate savings if ordering 10 or 50 or 100?

It sure seems like we should be able to band together to make a significant dent in the shipping cost.

That sounds like a GREAT excuse, Parsig.....not that one is needed.

I broke down, and will be broke off by the one in charge, but needless to say ordered 2.

I think I would seriously consider getting one if that could be done.

Amen! I did it once for a Corgi 109E, but just can't justify that kind of thing more than once every year or so...Why can't there be more special runs in the US? Flying Tiger probably realized they won't get a lot of action across the Atlantic, so the run was kept down to 550.
