Is Gemini Aces kaput?

We've read about the Hornby-Corgi buyout. Will that have any effect on the future of Gemini Aces? The Aces part of Gemini APPEARS to be in a coma. Will tightening competition from a growing Hobby Master and a possibly resurgent Corgi lead to a GA visit to the morgue?

Re: Is Gemini Aces kaput?

I sure hope not! I was looking forward to a few more P-51B/C releases.

Re: Is Gemini Aces kaput?

I doubt they are going anywhere.

1. They make a very fine product. All 3 models are really some of the best that exist in 72nd
2. Most of the models sell at retail I think. $25-$30 is really common with prices toward $30 being paid more often (and I try not to pay retail for anything)
3. The Kent model was recent and by many accounts a great success. I passed b/c of the X-rate but it pained me to do so.
4. They picked some odd schemes and too many yellow 109s and they seem to sell anyway. Could anybody else pull that off?

Just some thoughts...

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

Re: Is Gemini Aces kaput?

Gemini isn't kaput, just resting.

Don't forget Jumblies Models just announced a special commissioned due out in June, P-51B "Snoots Sniper."

Glad to hear that. I have all their standard offerings, but their special offerings all seem to be in the UK, and with shipping and higher prices from across the pond, it just isn't worth it.
Let's hope they get production of standard releases ramped up...

Re: Is Gemini Aces kaput?

I think they're fine as well, probably just held back by the production issues in China like everyone else. I know one thing, I'm getting impatient for that Spitfire MkI !!!!!

You and me both, no4mkit!

I know they'll look great -- and even better when I compare 'em to my old Corgi MkI's.

Nrrrm! Whoosh! Rat-tat-tat!

Re: Is Gemini Aces kaput?

Naw they are here to stay. Civil airliners are the bread n butter for Gemini, Aces are still a work in progress.
