Bf 109F-4 III./JG 54 Russian Front Winter 1944

One more Gemini Aces Bf 109Fcame in the mail today. I just had to snag the winter camouflaged one to add some variation to my Bf 109s. As usual, the only issue I have with the GA Bf 109Fs is that huge metal toothpick for an antenna mast. Fortunately with this one the antenna was already loose and just about fell off on its own. I had already prepared a replacement antenna ready for the new model so it made for a quick replacement. The parts on this model had exceptionally good fit and overall this makes for a really nice looking model. I have three of the Gemini Aces Bf 109Fs now and not sure if I will add any more, but really do like the ones that I have.

That's the model I lost my "Gemini virginity" to. I think it is a great paint scheme.

Me to, DA, I ordered that one and Johnson's Spitfire on sale at the same time. I like'em! Appreciate the metal prop too.

I love that plane! I've seen a few for a little bit of nothing the last year or so and I always grab 'em.

This is going to be a classic someday.

I have that Corgi Fw 190 too and they definitely make a sharp looking pair. It would be nice if somebody would put out some more of the Eastern Front paint schemes.

Interestingly enough, when the 25 year old daughter was looking over the collection (feigned interest to appease old dad) this is the plane that caught her eye. The color scheme and emblems (green heart and devils head) drew favorable comments.

I like it too, but a bit of weathering helps.

The Eastern Front Winter Schemes are my favorites. This is also my favorite ME-109 along with the Dragon White 109. They mix really nicely with my Finnish Gladiator.

Anything for a weird life.

I have this one too, unfortunately it came without gear down and part of the base is missing (the "stick").
But overall a very good model. I purchased it on ebay along with the Johnny Johnson spitfire and the Berlin Express Mustang.

Re: Bf 109F-4 III./JG 54 Russian Front Winter 1944

OK, is it just me or is the join where the rounded end pieces meet the wings kinda sloppy on GA's Bf-109Fs?

I've noticed this on several different models, and it's stopped me from buying them. Which is a shame, 'cause either than that they are great models. The GA Spits don't seem to have this problem.
