Re: WW2 fighters frozen now?

I for one would be crushed if Gemini got out of 1/72 WWII aircraft - their efforts to date are exemplary and certainly give Corgi a run for their money. I would have thought that the the Brits being as discerning as they are about diecast would be all over the Gemini Aces series. Oh well who would have thought??!!

Regardless, Merry Christmas to all !

Agree. That's why I had hoped they would go more whole-hog on their offerings -- to keep the ball rolling! Hopefully we won't find any hint of a pull-out in the future.

Re: WW2 fighters frozen now?

I wouldn't worry about Gemini's 1/72 scale birds. Keep in mind that commercial airliners are their primary business and that diecast companies do not have infinite financial resources. Gemini is simply budgeting their business by temporarily tabling the first three toolings in order to release new toolings. After so many consecutive releases of the same three birds, demand decreases as collectors grow a bit tired of repaints of the same three planes. After the huge investment in those original three toolings, I'm quite certain Gemini will be producing more Spits, Mustangs and 109's in the future. The folks at Gemini are smart. They're not going to over extend themselves financially to dive into 1/72 with dozens of new toolings over a short period of time.

I doubt I could get tired of the P-51B they make, so many good liveries to make still. I'd sell off my Dragon D's to make room for more B's.
