Re: Any A-1 Skyraider news????

It's even aerodynamic!

The plane or the toilet?

Even cooler than the crapper itself is the squadron sticker on the side. And, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like it's earned a Battle "E", too!

OOOh! will the accessories come with one of these?

Anyone else notice the panel lines and dingy look. Looks like this one should be a HM release and not a Gemini one.

Re: Any A-1 Skyraider news????

If Gemini were smart, they really would include the krapper as part of the weapons loadout...Even if I had zero interest at all in the Skyraider itself, I would have to get one just for that alone...

I agree...I was planning on only getting an Air Force version in SEA camo but if they make a toilet bomb version count me in....

Hm still hasn't mastered the panel line coloring on the lighter color aircraft so I think GA will do just fine, Plus you get a pilot figure and a metal stand. The A-1 will probably be a substantial piece of metal.

Re: Any A-1 Skyraider news????

Same thing's being discussed on the UK forum, nada, nothing, ziltch. I'll be very upset if they drop the Spey Phantom as there's I have a personal link to that aircraft. I guess we now continue to play the waiting game, until they decide one way or the other.

Re: Any A-1 Skyraider news????

I never much cared for the A1 until you guys started taking about it. Now I realize how important it was and want one badly. It has definitely grown on me.

What's not to love?? It has all the hallmarks of greatness...it carries a massive ordinance load, has excellent range/loiter time and it can soak up hits like Cheech and Chong and keep right on flyin'!. Think of it as a prop driven A-10 with 4 20mm cannons instead of 1 30mm... There's a great story in a Skyraider book I have about a spad pilot getting shot down during a mission to support the troops under siege in the Ashau valley. One of his buddies flys in BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE GUNS POSITONED ON RIDGES ON EITHER SIDE...lands on a completely hosed runway (holes/debris everywhere), picks up his buddy and gets out. Plenty of other incredible stories (like spads getting a MiG kill) from Korea and Vietnam associated with the spad, but that one sticks in my mind.

Here's the book if anyone's interested:
