Re: Latest word on the Phantom II

Irrespective of the number of 'Spey' powered F4s and their service to the UK et al (?), I think of the F4 Phantom as being first and foremost a US warbird/icon

Re: Latest word on the Phantom II

I wonder how Corgi will screw up their A-10's and Mig-29's. I sure dun like the way they did their F-4's. This Gemini ought to be wayyyy better

Re: Latest word on the Phantom II

True - and because of that we really need new U.S. F-4 versions to replace them with!

I agree, but I recall being told that original user nation/producer didn't factor with diecast makers. Recall HM and how long it took to make the Luke Field AT-6. I'd like some Nam versions AF and Navy. Then some final US versions in the grey over grey look, especially a Wild Weasel.

But why does everyone need to produce a standard Phantom model?? From GA's point of view a "rest of the world" model would be much more marketable, and I'm sure that they considered this before production.

HM announced at the beginning of the year that they would do an "E", and whatever you think about the mold corgi have done the B/N, J/S, C/D models - so shouldn't we be asking where's the HM one instead of pasting GA for making a brave decision to fill the gaping hole??

Ooops!

I agree with GA's decision to produce the British Phantoms- those and the USN F-4J/S versions are my favorites. I hope an Ark Royal FG. Mk 1 is in the works.

Fear not, the Royal Navy Phantom is I believe no.1 off the blocks. The unpainted pre-pro looks very good so, for all RAF/RN Spook lovers, clear some shelf space and prepare to empty those bank accounts.

Re: Latest word on the Phantom II

Surely Corgi have done enough F4's, the UK F4's had different engine inlets and rear fuselage if i remember correctly.

Yes...Corgi should retire that old mold...and don't call me Shirley!
