I am also curious as to when it is going to be released? I am looking forward to the Skyraider as well as the RAF Phantom, too!

All I have heard is this: The next new tooling GJ will release (as part of the Aces line) is going to be the Phantom, which will hopefully appear during the third quarter. As I understand it, between now and then there's going to be a break with regard to *anything* coming from the Aces line (now that the captured P-51 has been released). I'm still trying to figure out what's going on with the Skyraider (though one would think it wouldn't be too far behind the Phantom). (Grain of salt: file this report in the rumor bin until and unless we hear something more official from GJ.)

Re: More Pre-production Skyraider pictures

If the rumour I have heard is true ,the first release will dissapoint all the US fans but FAA collectors like me will be VERY happy.

Not to take anything away from Great Britain's Fleet Air Arm, but why would Gemini start off with an FAA version rather than a U.S. livery? Seems like an odd marketing ploy. If they want to save the best for later, to suck in buyers for more than one model, they could have started with a South Vietnamese motif. I might ----emphasis on "might"----buy that.

On the contrary, GJ is likely leaning in this direction precisely because the Brits buy more and make earlier commitments to purchase than us Yanks. I don't know of any US Aces exclusives (where a retailer buys an entire production quota of a given model), but there have been *several* done by shops in the UK. I wouldn't be surprised if ModelZone, Jumblies or some other outfit has specifically asked GJ to give them the FAA model first. Of course, the problem here is that the only reference I can find regarding the Fleet Air Arm's use of the Skyraider is No.849 Squadron, which used (exclusively) the AEW.1 (the British version of the 3-seat AD-4W), which is a very different aircraft from the single seat A1-D tooling that we've seen previewed here.
