Plagis Spitfire

Well, it was a big week at the "Conemaugh" house. Among others (A-4 McCain, A-6 Intruder, Ferocious Frankie P-51, DW Hellcat, and DW Wildcat), I just received the Plagis Spitfire from Gemini. This is my first Spitfire other than the FM 1:48 and 1:100 versions. Boy, I am truly impressed. I may have to pick up a few more of these beauties.

Thumbs up Re: Plagis Spitfire

I agree. I received mine a week or so ago. Much nicer camo colours (and correct) than the first two issues which I have. I received the USAAF grey one today. Nice as well but I'm looking forward to the Kent Spitfire due out soon.

Mustang Driver...I'm from the eastern suburbs -- near Murrysville. I grew up in the South Hills, though. And you?

Re: Plagis Spitfire

I think the Plagis Spit is the nicest 1:72 fighter, and certainly Spit, that I've ever seen by any maker -- hands down.

It is a beaut! Here's a desktop wallpaper image I made cuz I like it so much!

I'll second that!

I do have one question (and I'm too lazy to look up the answer myself): What's the script above MUSCAT?

ML214 was assigned to 126 'Persian Gulf' Squadron, and was one of six Spitfire IX's purchased through the Persian Gulf Spitfire Fund. Subsequently they carried the names of six Persian states, Muscat being one, so the script is simply Muscat in Arabic.

I have to agree the model is simply stunning, and they seem to all be getting better with "screwball" Beurling's aircraft having the rear view mirror added.

Upper St. Clair man. This is a great spit, and I think I am going to have to track this one down.

Aha! No wonder I couldn't puzzle out the "cursive" writing. Thanks, planejunky -- and welcome to the forum!
