Re: Ferocious Frankie P-51b photos

Look you I had one of those please poke my eyes out kinda days, and still I wanted to share my new Mustang with you. I was gonna let Harry's comment go but now that you have to chime in Ponydriver, well, I can't let it pass. For your information, NO, it wasn't salad or any other left over.

It was a leaf or tree....thingy, and I'm doing what I can here. Two kids under 2!! Do you know what that's like?!?!? I had a quiet 30 seconds and tried to post.........I can't take it............

I was just kidding you buddy. It is all good.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Looks good. I can't say this is my favorite, but she does look nice. I'd really like a OD verson with complete invasions stripes (wings and body). That would make me happy.

Re: Ferocious Frankie P-51b photos

Is anyone familiar with the 362nd FG??? I am wondering if they used more than one shade of yellow on the noses of their birds because the Bald Eagle '51 has a much brighter shade of yellow than the FF '51???????????????? Hmmmmmmmmmm??? Can anyone, especially Lev elaborate any further???

I didn't notice that, but I began to wonder bout the green parts on Bald Eagle (wings and spine). I'm guessing they painted over the invasion stripes, somewhere I heard pilots were concerned about that when viewed from above. Initially I thought the green areas on the wings were to keep down the bare metal glare. Still FF is a nice addition to the stable.

Re: Ferocious Frankie P-51b photos

Oh I agree with you 100% Shawn!!! I love FF but I wish the yellows were the same between Bald Eagle and FF????? Maybe Hworth could help me, hint hint????

The yellow on BE is the same as Galland's and the same for FF and Neuman's 109?????? Must have been trying to save a little on supplies??? I'm not mad or trying to be critical on Gemini, I just wish they kept things consistent in the 'Stangs????

I bet the yellow on the real things varied somewhat as well. Probably used whatever they could get their hands on at the time.

Ooops!

I was kind of thinking that, but maybe not??? Who knows, so I suppose I'll have to get the book of the group.

I just got this model, my third Gemini Mustang. It's number 1904 of 2000. While overall it is excellent, there are two quality control problems which I hope are an anomaly rather than a trend. The antenna mast has a small but obvious kink, and the right main gear has a 20 degree toe-in. Not even worth mentioning if it was an IXO or Corgi. But Gemini has raised my expectations to the point that I was disappointed.
