Gemini Aces P-51B Royal Airforce (Polish wing)

I posted my Gemini Aces Spitfire pics last week. So here is my Gemini Aces P-51B. This one is technically a Mustang III in Royal Airforce service equipping the No. 133 (Polish) Wing and is the mount of Wing Commander Stanislaw Skalski, the highest scoring Polish ace with 22 kills.

Most of what I wrote about the Spitfires is true here. However at least this P-51B and the first one have stand problems- the stand does not fit in the provided hole in the aircraft. You'll have to modify the stand if you want to show the plane wheels up.

The model comes with two types of drop tanks. I installed the bigger ones so I could fly farther.

The one glaring problem with the mould is the antenna. It should be aft where the first white invasion strip is. I'm not picky enough to bother moving it.

Landing gear is not one piece as with the Spitfires but installs easily. However being separate parts the wheels are not as sturdy as the Spitfires. Some glue should cure that.

Another great model with some minor flaws. I expect Gemini will fix them down the road but I'm happy with the model and to have this scheme on the shelf.

My stands have fit, but a bit of force was required.

Unhappy Re: Gemini Aces P-51B Royal Airforce (Polish wing)

Great pics Ships. My RAF Mustang has yellow prop tips of differing sizes on each tip. Unimpressed with their QC. Beautiful model otherwise.

the pics are nice very colorful. Is that the roaming gnome from priceline.com in the cockpit though?

I've had this P51 since it was released, and it's been sitting on the supplied stand with no issues since then.

I wonder if Gemini will make the new pilot available for users to be able to retrofit if they need. It is a huge improvement over this one.

Re: Gemini Aces P-51B Royal Airforce (Polish wing)

Do any members know where good 1/72 seated pilot figures are available? I'm sure there are many out there like me who would like to upgrade Warbirds, Dragon, HM aircraft. I like my aircraft to have pilots but getting the choice with an optional removable pilot would suit most collectors.
