Re: My first Gemini Aces - Me 109 Russian Front

Bingo Celtic!!! When this line was first announced, I heard lots of "Order now because they won't last!" Now Bad Cat is selling them as clearance items - go figure.

Just got my Galland Bf 109 F three days after ordering it (talk about great customer service). WOW! What a beautiful model. I may have to get more 109s. Geeeezzzzzz! First you guys get me hooked on Stukas, then FW 190s and now 109s. What's a carrier aviation guy to do? Lucky for me I still hate Spitfires or else I'd really be in trouble.

YOU ARE IN TROUBLE!!!! Go away and write out 100 times Spitfires are the most beautifull aeroplanes ever built.
Have you ever seen a Spitfire fly at an airshow? MKVs with the Merlin engine are just the best sounding plane in the world.
Perfection in sound and flight. When you have seen the rest then watch a Spitfire. Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool .

God Bless America.

Re: My first Gemini Aces - Me 109 Russian Front

Sorry Jim - writing that 100 times won't help. Must be an individual taste thing. Saw a Spitfire flyby about ten years ago at an airshow. Beautiful plane and yes, you are right - what an incredible sound! Still this plane doesn't do anything for me. In fact, I just listed my sixth Spitfire on ebay. I've only got my Levine Spit and my two Matchboxes left. I'm thinking about getting Gemini's RAF P-51 though. For some reason, I feel the same way about Mustangs that many of my fellow Hangerites feel about Spitfires - you can never have too many.

Re: My first Gemini Aces - Me 109 Russian Front

Sorry Hot Trap but I'm with Jim on this one. 29 Spits so far; Corgi, Gemini, FM, Dragon, and anyone who will make a decent one!

Get the RAF P-51 because you will not be sorry. It is a beautiful bird. At one stage I had about 10 P-51D's but I'm down to about 3 now. The P-51B IMHO is a far nicer aircraft and I'm looking forward to getting 'Berlin Express' this week. I hope Corgi do an ETO RAF Apache to go with their forthcoming Desert version.
If the RAF did'nt have Spitfire success would we have got a Mustang?

Probably not Shamrock.

Like I said - it's a matter of personal taste. I feel the way about my Mustangs and Corsairs that you do about Spitfires. We are direct opposites of each other. That's what makes this hobby so much fun.

I'd love an A-36A dive bomber version or even a P-51A Mustang version.

Re: My first Gemini Aces - Me 109 Russian Front

The Russian Front 109 is a gorgeous model. The colors and assembly are excellent. I ordered this model with the Berlin Express P-51B, and that model is a beaut also--in fact, probably the best P-51 in my collection. Wish it was possible to order the Spits too, but there are just to many other selections out there. Budget, budget, budget...
