Re: Berlin Express - wrong antenna (again)

I received my BE Mustang last night with my Huy 109. I'm really happy with my BE as it had nothing at all to complain about* (unlike the 109 which I posted in another thread).

The antenna issue was easily remedied as I applied a firm pull and it came out of the fuselage. In one piece too! I taped it to a piece of paper for use in the future (if ever).

The only other thing to mention was a very poor fit to the stand. The model is not secure at all and appears ready to topple. If they are all like this I would recommend having it parked, gear down.

B6,
The loose stand issue seems to be sporadic as only one of mine (Berlin) has this problem, but I fixed it with a little Elmers glue..

Re: Berlin Express - wrong antenna (again)

Outstanding work Zed, it looks great! I think you mentioned this earlier in the thread, but for review, how did you attach the whip antenna? And what did you use to fill in the hole for the old antenna?

Re: Berlin Express - wrong antenna (again)

filled the original hole with microsol krystal klear, then drilled a hole further back with a micro drill.
i was originally going to use fine fishing line but decided in the end to use some fuse wire.
just put a tiny bit of superglue on the end of the wire positoned it in the hole then trimmed it to the correct length.
certainly pleased with the result looks much better.i also painted over the krystal klear with xtracrylix faded olive drab

Looks great Zed. I just got mine today, but I'm not bothered by the wrong antenna. Your work is definitely "excellent".

Cuz, they're just keeping with diecast manufacturers' tradition of "Why do it right, when it's just as easy to do it wrong?"
