Re: New molds?

I far prefer HobbyMaster products over those of Gemini and would support them over the latter as I think they show product innovation as well as listen to their customers . I hope they have a long and prosperous future ...

Cardinal, out of interest why do you prefer HobbyMaster?

I can't say I would know either way as I have never seen any of their products. I do know though that Gemini have produced some excelelent stuff (but not perfect), but they do seem to be correcting them as fast as that can, within the constraints of the manufacturing process

These look nice and I will probably get atleast one (probably more) of the 2 bladed Spit, but I was hoping more for Gemini to stay within the WWII era..

Re: New molds?

That skyraider is going to be sweeet... though, I'm with you Harry, I sort of wish they stayed in WWII -- tackled a multi-engine subject, perhaps....

Re: New molds?

I will probably get one or two of the Spits and every Spey Phantom they release ,if they would release the F4j UK as well in the correct colours I would be happy to get shot of my hound ones. The Skyraider I may pick up one or two but I hope they release a Royal Navy AEW one.

My opinion is purely subjective on this Timbo as I can't say for sure why I've become supportive of HM products . Perhaps it's because they've truly tried to listen to collectors as well as provide an excellent product at a reasonable price, while being innovative to boot .

The Lexington 'yellow wing' SBD-2 Dauntless for example has really grown on me and remains one of the few 1/72 models (like the silver Swordfish and some Dragons) that I have not packed away since moving my collecting focus to 1/48 and 1/32 scale aircraft.

(Also, as I mentioned in another post, my second batch of three Gemini Aces all had QC issues, with two of them suffering scratched/occluded canopies and the other one a painted shut wing flap .)

One sheep to rule them all ...

I love the Dauntless "yellow wing" one of the best diecast on the market.

Re: New molds?

Thanks cardinal. Yes oppinions are subjective. Haviong blown my Diecast budget before xmas, it will be a while till I see anything from HM.

That's unlucky about the GA QC issues you had, but I don't think your alone by anymeans. When I got my second batch the tip of the mustang arial was bent - easy to fix, and one of the 109's tail planes had fallen off and was rattling around int he box (and this was from a supplier that proudly decares they examine every shipment for defects BEFORE shipment)

Me too!! I'm pleasantly surprised with the two-blader option so kudo's to Gemini for having the stones to give us a niche version that probably only appeals to the real Spitfire nutters!

Surely they'll do some 3 blade Spitfire I's and II's next which I'll buy a few of as well. The Corgi's won't look too good in comparison I'm afraid....
