Re: New molds?

Folks, speaking of the ME-110, Hobby Master has announced one for later this year. At least that is covered for the near future.

Yes, but with multiple manufacturers doing P-51B, etc.. I can't find any fault in a Gemini Me-110. Hobby Master has panel line and tail swazi issues and this is one subject I want to see done right.

Hworth, I second all of your recommendations.

Very true. Unless hobbymaster fixes the tail swazi issue I'm going to hold out for gemini or corgi to make one

The next models out are supposed to have the swazis tampoed on, except for the those destined for the German market.

Re: New molds?

I just read further notes confirming the new Gemini toolings for 2007. They were posted by Marky_ncl on the DAF.
Two you have heard about earlier in this thread, they are:
F-4 Phantom (Spey Engines)
Douglas Skyraider
Lucky number three is:
Mk.I Spitfire with 2 bladed prop

Resin samples are to be shown at the Excel Toy Fair in London for the rest of this week.

Before the complaints start about not another Spitfire, I'd like to say that is the one I'm most looking forward to.

I far prefer HobbyMaster products over those of Gemini and would support them over the latter as I think they show product innovation as well as listen to their customers . I hope they have a long and prosperous future ...

While I enjoy HobbyMaster's efforts, I find that their choice of subjects thus far serve much better as peripherals in my collection rather than the main focus. Gemini's product, with its much more mainstream approach, is much better suited to my needs, and will more than likely be the company that gets my die-cast dollars more often. I hope that they continue to expand their line of quality and affordable models for many years to come.

Let's face it though, no matter which line you prefer we, the collector, are sitting in the proverbial catbird's seat. Whether you want a Dauntless, Mustang, Hellcat or Skyraider we will be spoiled for choice in the forseeable future. Quality models at an affordable price will soon be the rule, not the exception, and we get to benefit from it.

Re: New molds?

Spey Phantoms, Skyraiders...just when I was trying to convince myself to slow down collecting. Ah well, I never saw a hearse towing a U-Haul, so what the heck!

It will be interesting to see which Skyraiders will be done, the single seaters or the A-1E or AD-4W versions which would need a seperate fuselage mold being produced.

Re: New molds?

I have to say that I'm not really excited about the proposed moulds. Sure, the Skyraider is not a plane anyone else is currently making, which is nice. I'm also sure that Gemini will do an excellent job and I'll pick up one or two planes, but over all, Hobby Master will be getting the majority of my commitment this year.

Re: New molds?

Interesting choices! I will certainly be adding one of the Spey-F4's to my RAF Jets collection, and probably one of each of the Skyraider and Spitfire. But they are not models that are likely to entice me into purchasing multiple-releases.
