Re: Ding Hao pictures show a revised arial!

I wasn't interested in the first wave because of the odd problems they had. Good thing they have addressed them with this batch as I really want to get all 3 (any word when the Galland 109 comes out?).

The Galland 109 is already out.

Re: Ding Hao pictures show a revised arial!

I wish they would have put the Malcolm Hood on Ding Hao!!! Here is a site where you can see his P-51 with the bird cage style canopy and all sorts of info on the 354th Fighter Group. Notice the crew chief painting Blue Swasis instead of black on the side of Maj. Howards plane???????????

The Ding Hao version looks great! Methinks it will find its way into my collection. I like it better than the previous issue. Somehow a "B" looks better in the OD green.

Regarding Gemini radio masts, I believe the RAF 51B with the Malcolm Hood should not have a mast and according to my references it should have tracks to guide the canopy when sliding open.

Ron, you are correct, the Malcolm hood slid back on the fuselage and the antenna should have been the "whip" style moved further back on the upper fuselage..

So much for bailing out! . I guess if you were skinny enought you could slip through the opening!

Re: Ding Hao pictures show a revised arial!

Well it seems there will have to be a minor change for the next P-51B with the Malcolm Hood that Gemini will be making in the future.
Just move the whip antenna down a inch.
