Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

looks like you made the green all the same shade, too? Looks great -- how'd you get it to stick in the stand, superglue?

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

I drilled a hole in the coolant scoop and used a little 5min epoxy. Yeah, I changed it to a shade of olive drab I could live with I used a piece of .010 x .030 strip plastic for the antenna.

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

Just drilled a hole. The stand didn't fit tight enough so I used a little of 5min epoxy. Cut a piece of strip plastic and super glued it. Masked and sprayed (yes Skunky I actually fired up one of my airbrushes I still hate the clean up!) my custom mix of olive drab. Oversprayed with Testors Dullcoat......that's about it

Very nice, PN-if I get one, will you "correct" mine?

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

So I've heard a lot of guys comment that the Bald Eagle doesn't fit well on the stand, but mine seems fine. At first it seemed like too tight a fit, but with firm pressure and a little wiggling the two mated nicely. Did I get lucky or has anyone else had any luck with this technique?
