Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

Was assembling my Bald Eagle P-51B today. Very nice model.

Very poor placement of insertion hole for the stand. Totally conflicts with belly air intake. Maybe I'm missing something fundamental - wouldn't be the first time. Ended up opting for wheels down configuration.

Love the aircraft tho, and looking forward to the RAF livery and Ding Hao!

Hints welcome. Cheers, pieceOfCake

You can see in the very first picture I posted where I changed the stand location to. Drill a hole - epoxy in place - looks a lot better.

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

So I've heard a lot of guys comment that the Bald Eagle doesn't fit well on the stand, but mine seems fine. At first it seemed like too tight a fit, but with firm pressure and a little wiggling the two mated nicely. Did I get lucky or has anyone else had any luck with this technique?

Just recieved my Bald Eagle today, part of a pre order that contained a Witty SeaFury. Anyway at first I thought WTF this is not good, but as you said with a little pressure and a wiggle or two it fit in nice and snug.
