Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

So I've heard a lot of guys comment that the Bald Eagle doesn't fit well on the stand, but mine seems fine. At first it seemed like too tight a fit, but with firm pressure and a little wiggling the two mated nicely. Did I get lucky or has anyone else had any luck with this technique?

Man this is a barn door left wide open for the Skunk!

I shave my head and my wife sometimes calls me the bald eagle and last night......never mind.......Skunky, take it.......

I don't like the way the stand fits in front of the scoop......just didn't look good to me, that's why I changed mine.

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

I am hoping Gemini will look at your example because I am only waiting for the baseball bat antenna problem to be fixed and then I too will take the Gemini plunge. I really like the looks of thier molds. You did a really great job with your masking and color choice. It is hard to believe anyone is good enough to do work like that at such a small scale.

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

Great job planenuts! I'm committed to the originals because I've ordered the first 3 GAs and have nowhere near the skill or equipment to fix problems like this. I'm probably more likely to wreck it completely.

Re: P-51B - stand - antenna

PN, did you just mask and spray the nose, or did you mask off the whole thing and repaint? Just curious.

I masked with Tamiya masking tape around the anti-glare panel, fuselage and wing areas and sprayed with my Paasche H1 since I didn't have to do any fine feathered camo.....and the H1 is eaiser to clean up and I've gotten lazy
