Just bought a SU 34 today. The pitot tube is bent at an angle ( towards the left ).I checked with the store and found all of the other SUs pitot tube were bent at an angle. Is this a manufacturer defects ? Does anyone has the same problem as mine ? How do i straightenend it ? It looks so fragile that i'm afraid to do anything to it.

That's normal with Gaincorp models...at least you got everything else straight. I had the same mould, different livery, with the tailboom AND the nose test instrumentation tube both bent.
A blow dryer carefully applied to heat the plastic and then putting some pressure in the opposite direction would do. careful with the heat from the dryer, you don't want to overheat it and have the plastic melt and shrink. another alternative is to dip the affected area into very hot water, not boiling but hot enough to soften the plastic, and then apply pressure the same way, with your bare hands so you have full control.
with the tail boom i had to take some more drastic measures and superglue...you don't want to do that.

Re: Su 34

Talk about loaded for bear! Ain't that an exotic weapons suite-?! One Su-34 could probably take out half an army.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Re: Su 34

I had three Su 34s and if memory serves two of 'em arrived with the nose probe broken off during transit. The lone survivor may have been a bit crooked but that was an improvement!

Re: Su 34

sorry to hear that Paps, on this corner of the planet it is your responsibility to carry the model from the shop to the display cabinet at home...luckily mine arrived safely; even after two house movings, one by air inclusive, the nose test instrumentation super-long probe is still where's supposed to be.

Re: Su 34

No biggie really, they are easy to reattach -- even I, with my crude model skillz could do it The model is very, very cool -- looks like something out of star wars.

Re: Su 34

Not really, look at online retailers and the price of a GC model is around US$ 50 and up...

Back to the topic of this thread, the Su-34 is already in service and this is how it looks like, there are two planes in the picture, but the one at the back is almost completely eclipsed.
Looking pretty close to the "White 45" released by GC some years ago. The tail boom does look a little bit different though. Unfortunately, I don't think GC is going to go for it.
