Questions on Gaincorp's new PLA 1:48(or was that 1:72?) scale AC

Just the other day I saw the new gaincorp's 1/48 FC-1. The mold looks definitely better than their older ACs. The panel lines are more subtle this time. It was being sold at $73.00. The box has Chinese written all over it. I didn't knew it was Gaincorp's until that day. Also there was no picture of the product itself on the packaging box. Weird isn't it?

Then there was another box which I guess as also being Gaincorp's AC. the name stated was FTC-2000. Anybody know what this AC is? I didn't take a look at the inside and there was nothing shown on the box representing that particular AC. Does anybody know what AC this actually is?

I currently have Gaincorp's No.39 Chinese Su-27 and US F-15C Gorillas. I'm not overly excited about them but the day I saw Gaincorp's new 1/46 AC made me rethink their finish quality and mold. So is it worth the price?

The FC-1 itself looks to big to be in 1/72 scale for a single engine AC. I saw a reminiscence with F-16 fuselage with Taiwanese Ching-Kuo air intakes and Jaguar's nose.

The J-10 also looks suprisingly like an uglier sister of Typhoon. Haven't seen the actual model yet but from the pictures I can tell that I'm not happy with the panel lines finish. Another Gaincorp's flop?

Re: Questions on Gaincorp's new PLA 1:48 scale AC

This model (the FC-1), and the scale "issue" (1/72 on the box versus 1/48 actual) was discussed at length in this thread: GC7003 Chengdu FC-1 Xiaolong "Fierce Dragon".

With nice pictures of the model courtesy of mhackl, I might add.

Yes I've actually tread that thread but found the opinions not enough to relay the quality and the worthiness of the AC. Elaborate guys. Do you regret on having bought it?

My number one choice in AC models would be WittyWings but they are not sold anywhere here.

I own every different type of aircraft made by GC in their 1/48 range, and I am happy with them.

Their 1/48 models (including the wrongly labelled "1/72 FC1" are much better than their 1/72 models. Besides the FC1 Xiolong (Fierce /梟/ Dragon and not "little" /小/ as I explained in an earlier post), there is an excellent model of the J-10 in 1/48 (I saw it in person and trust me, it is good stuff). One detail about the FC1 is that there are two moulds, with different air intakes, the early prototype and something trying to represent the "Diverterless Supersonic Inlet (DSI)" on the production type, take a closer look at the pictures of the in-service Pakistani Xiaolong/Thunder fighters and you'll notice they have these intakes that look pretty much like smaller versions of the F-35 intake.
Honestly, I am not sure if Gaincorp did a good thing by changing the air intakes in the model, because the livery seems to be representing the older prototype. Same thing with the 1/48 J-10, it is not representing any real plane at all, wrong registration and livery, but very nice mould.

Hehehehe I still think Minichamps tanks are not that great but I just can't resist their all metal chain track with working suspension. The thing I crave about with tanks is not its armor nor its gun but its SUSPENSION. I love Challenger II suspension the most. Damn beautiful. Does this make me a pervert?

Talk about taste. You should see the girl I fell in love with in a tiny island just across the pond. All other girls look pale in comparison even pornstars. LOL. Damn it now I never going to marry...too lustful to become a Catholic monk either. LOL

What it doesn't represent any real AC? Then i'm glad I bought Minichamps tank. Though I really like what Gaincopr did with its panel lines.
