Re: Should Gaincorp attempt an F-35?

My Gaincorp F-22 is just fine and looks nothing, as far as fit/finish, like the photos in this thread (I did have to shorten the nose gear to give it the proper ground stance, though). Not sure what the explanation is.

As far as Marks' picture of the F-35 model, I hope they go to production-style intakes (the model shows the X-35-style ones, not F-35) and they fix the appearance of the nose, which looks weird and a bit too blunt. Also, what's that HUD doing there inside the cockpit? No such thing in the F-35 (though there was in the X-35).

I like the open weapons bays. But please, no moving parts if it means unsightly gaps and such...

Exactly..that's why I wouldn't even consider a Gaincorp F-15....The opening access panel on the nose looks horrible in the 'closed' position.

Well, I have one and maybe I'm lucky, but the fit of that panel is very tight on mine. To me, that was a lesser evil than the shape of the Witty canopies/spine.

But sure, I would still prefer it not be there in the first place.
