Unconfirmed: Gaincorp F-35 info

I spoke with a customer today who told me that he heard from a friend in Japan that they were in fact coming out with a F-35 possibly British. If this is true I'm sure that the US versions would come out at the same time if not immediately after. This is the first I've heard of it and I've not been able to confirm this hearasay as of yet.

Has any one else heard this?

This is not an actual photo of a Gaincorp model, but only a guesstimation of what the proposed scheme might look like.

Re: Should Gaincorp attempt an F-35?

It would be nice if Gaincorp could incorporate functioning panel doors that can be opened to reveal the seperate 'lift fan' engine detail behind the cocpit and make a rotating engine nacelle. I know it's 'gimicky'...but hey I like it!

Re: Should Gaincorp attempt an F-35?

I don't think that I'll get excited too about this one until I see them assigned to active units. That said, I've found that my indifference is, more often than not, followed by enthusiasm and credit card charges.

Anyway, here's some cool "Lightning II" eye candy.

To illustrate why I said "no" to Gaincorp and "yes" to another manufacturer like HM. Notice the rough finish, gaps and thick panels (especially the intakes).

Re: Should Gaincorp attempt an F-35?

That F-22 you posted on there has a rough looking finish..
On my F-22 it's not rough like that at all and mine is one of the lastest release and last F-22
to come out of production i was told.

SpecCrap....now Gaincrap!!! What's been bothering you lately, Skunk-Man???

JP, I also checked my F-22 lastnight and didn't notice any rough edges on the intakes or large gaping holes. I must be lucky as you are.

Re: Should Gaincorp attempt an F-35?

Both of my GainCorps are rough. I ordered each at different times and was disappointed, not only because of the QC issues, but because they lack the kind of refinement found in most Corgis, Dragons and HM diecasts. For the price you pay (equivalent to the aforementioned three companies), they should give you more in terms of landing gear, weapons, etc. options (as opposed to none).

I like that they take chances on different subjects but that doesn't justify the high price you pay! JM2C
