Gaincorp SU-33

I have been thinking of getting one of the Flankers (specifically the SU-33, Bort 69, whatever that means). TFM has a copy on sale for $29.99. What's the quality like on these models? Are they worth the usual $44 or so?

Thanks for your help.

I thought these were awesome, I paid the $40-45 for mine, until I got the Witty Flanker.... Though, for $30, I think it's well worth it--until/if Witty comes out with one, which won't be for a long time, if ever, most likely.

I have some old pics of my Bort 65 Sea Flanker here.

Re: Gaincorp SU-33

Are the details tampo printed or just decals?

Most are tampo/pad-printed -- not sure if there's a difference... the small stuff around the cockpit are decals.

Re: Gaincorp SU-33

I am too lazy to post pictures, but the GC Su-33 is missing the point.
The canard foreplane is awfully wrong, thus making the shape and contour of the LEX as inaccurate as you can get. google pics of the real sucker and you will know what I mean.

the wingfold and stabfold feature is a nice plus, but that is not enough for me. I don't care having unfoldable wings (like all Witty F-18s), but the model has to look right and GC just didn't make it with their Su-33.

we do have to give them credit for accuracy in livery and printed details. if you love the Su-33 and have money to spend, get it. IMO it is only a stop-gap.

I formally urge Witty to improve their canopy department (Su-27...F-14!!!!)...and we'll all be happy clams.
