| Raptor paint job since there are more and more F-22s entering service with the USAF, has anybody noticed the paint job is actually quite flashy? we're all familiar with the matt or dull finish on models, replicating the tactical greys so common these days. model paint tends to be even more unreflective than their real-world counterparts in some cases. The two Raptors produced so far by Gaincorp came in a very flat grey (two shades in the models, but not sure if the real planes were painted different), reflecting the paint job on the real planes...which are nothing like the paint applied on production raptors in the USAF!!! I am lazy so I will not post pictures now, but haven't you noticed how "metallic" and shiny the raptors look like? I am sure the test planes were in a more conventional outfit. isn't it time Gaincorp made some more and tried to replicate the new look of this plane, and correct the upwards pointing nose (either the main gears were too short or the nose gear was too long)!? I have absolutely no idea how to achieve that wonderful-looking metallic reflective paint. | |||||||||||||
