My intel sources confirm the release of the following model:

• Xiaolong FC-1/JF-17 (China Air Force) fighter plane in magnificent 1:72 scale.

Yes, you read correct ...1:72 scale ...this model was only available in 1:48 scale, until now.
This new model (1:72) is not available in the US - Canada yet but it will be sometimes within the next 3-4 months.

It's a good idea, but not that exciting. I may buy it if they decide to add some more detail, seems this needs some touches.

Not a terribly exciting model in terms of paint scheme, type of aircraft or looks. I will avoid that one, but thanks for the heads-up.

Just wondering how come this one is extra expensive? It is $69.99 instead of $49.99 (regular GainCorp jets)...

look guys, i am glad that Gaincorp is not dead after the berkut, i know they may be making healthy profits with their 1/18 car models and probably some other ventures, but the release of the Xiaolong in 1/72 was not something i am going nuts about.

it is a rather exclusive mould and theme, but i am not very impressed by the level and quality of details shown in those pictures, and as i said, i am not very excited about the resizing of the 1/48 mould.

it does look like a nice effort, those raised lights and antennae, plus that detail on the vertical fin and all...but if it's a gaincorp, it has to be sth very exciting...or i will simply pass.

there was a lot of talking about a foldable A/F-18 E/F mould and some sample pictures where shown, that was about a year or more ago

b-huj i couldn't agree with you more. I'm not crazy about this new Chinese aircraft and i would rather have Gaincorp making another Russian bird such as Mig-29.

I have only three aircraft models right now(1 dragon and 2 gaincorp) and i'm not amused with Gaincorp's quality. Only buying them because Witty is not available in my City and Dragon is so silly with their spreading wheels.

These FC-1 Xialong are starting to show up as in stock with some of the on-line retailers.
I'll pass on this one...Not to crazy about this jet fighter.

This sentiment pretty much sums up for me too. Gaincorp should stick to doing more Russian birds and helos as well - I do want to see these made: Mig 23/25/27/29 and Sukhois 22/24/25....or how about some Hind Gunship helicopters???
