Re: My new FM Wolfhound Eagle

Trex, that's a nice find. I built a model of that F-15 bearing the same squadron emblem of the 32nd TFS a long time ago. I actually built it
for a friend associated with that squadron and in exchange he gave me his squadron's patch as a memento.

Some info on your "Wolfhound" F-15 Eagle.

32nd Tactical Fighter Squadron background:

The insignia was designed by the Walt Disney Studios during WWII. It symbolized the squadron's mission of
searching for enemy subs operating in groups called "Wolfpacks" in the Caribbean. In Dec. 1942, the
Commanding General of the Army Air Forces, approved the design as the official insignia for the 32nd.

In 1959, the 32nd became the only USAF unit in the world authorized to bear the Royal Crest of another
country, when the Crown and Wreath were added to the famed 'Wolfhoudn' design. The crown symbolizes
royalty, while the wreath and twelve oranges represent an orange tree, a traditional symbol of the Dutch
Royal family - The House of Orange - who are descendants of William of Orange, the first Prince of the
Netherlands.
This unique honour was granted in recognition of the unit's contribution to the defense of The Netherlands
and graphically illustrates the 32nd's close ties with the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

Thanks for the history Fly! I read something similar about the 32nd on their website. Very cool and personally interesting since I just recently visited the Netherlands.

AA, great Eagles you got there. The pictures are nice for a rushed couple of shots! I really like the OANG bird but it's hard to find and the only one I did see online is waaayyyy over my price range. BTW, do you have the Green Dragons "A" model of the Eagle from FM and if you do, how does it compare and is it worth getting?

Thanks again fellas!!!

Thanks, I am still after two "special" Eagles. One is the JSDF version and the other a 600 limited US ANG release.

Uhm, if I remember correctly I have an extra OANG somewhere. What's your price range?

Nope, I don't have the Green Dragons yet. So far I focused on earlier releases. But from what I've seen it looks nice.

Re: My new FM Wolfhound Eagle

Thanks CC! Here's another FM Eagle I just picked up. Very nicely done, just don't think it should be carrying the sparrows...oh yeah and the FM F-15 airbrake issue again but doesn't detract from the beauty of this model.
