Armour Nowotny FW-190

This is number 98044. JG 54 seems to have some of my favorite paint schemes so when I learned that the Corgi Yellow 2 was not the only diecast model out there with a scheme like this I had to find one. This model arrived in the silver Armour box, with no screw like the Marseilles. Must be Franklin mint are the ones that started doing that. I don't like it and these models seem very secure in their box. This arrived in absolute desperate need of a bath and there was a small white spot on the starboard wing where the styrofoam had rubbed through the thin green paint to reveal the base color. Nothing my acrylics and a little Doc Obrien's powders (to get the color right) could not rememdy. I may hit it with some dull cote in a couple days too to protect the repair and even out the finish. I love this little model. This one seems to be mosly pad printed and the finsh is great. There are at least 2 subtly different shades of green applied to the upper surfaces. This somehow feels more solid and like a better quality piece than my Mohr Green Dragon one. As Pappy says, this one is highly recommended!

Neat paint scheme and l like the armament configuration on this model. Wish someone would do that weapon setup with one the 1/72nd scale models.

parsig, since you are a fan of JG54, do you have the Trautloft Bf109 and the snow white Fw190 with the underwing gondolas?

I don't. When I first got in to the hobby I tried not to buy the 48th scale models. A couple years ago, I gave up that silly idea and now I'm trying to catch up.

I have several 72nd JG 54 birds though. A few months ago I came across a Trautloft but I knew somebody else who wanted it more.

The Trautloft and the Phillip are on my list.

Good plan, what I like about the Bf109 from Trautloft is the Green Heart on this A/C shows the three different Group insignia within the Heart itself

Re: Armour Nowotny FW-190

I have a t-shirt with that same design as the Trautloft. I really like it. You might get a kick out of looking at all the shirts and videos this place has.
Some great nono shirts for that special German collector.
I found them at Oshkosh a few years ago.
warshows.com

The site is a little slow for some reason right now. Some terrible, violent storms in Pennsylvania today could be the reason.

I have the 'snow' CDC 1/48 FW190 and it is superb with pad printing and no decals - flown by Karl "Quax" Schnorrer

Re: Armour Nowotny FW-190

That is a nice-looking FM 190... and I've never really been a fan, but that one I would probably snag after seeing those pics. Looks great, Parsig, congrats.

And so the pictures are where?

Cardinal, I thought I could expect more from you.

chiefs70 should be able to post some good pics of the Trautloft...if he even cares

.... and I am still grateful, Drew. Most of my display space is devoted to my K&C figures, vehicles and buildings but the Trautloft remains in a prime location of honor - one of only roughly 30 aircraft on display when I used to have more than 100 in full view.

If I ever come across another I'll repay the favor.
