Re: Latest FM acquisition

Hey, that looks pretty cool Parsig -- I've been curious about those.

I think the nose high issue is right: (I just can't get airnliners.net images to direct link to a post...)

Re: Latest FM acquisition

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to FM 1:48 planes and would like to seek some advice from the experts.

An ex-colleague has offered to sell me his UK GR.1 Desert Storm Tornado for S$200 (about US$150). It's in mint condition and has only been taken out of the box only once for inspection. Everything else is in order.

I am quite tempted to seal the deal since the plane has been retired. I'm not sure if the price quoted to me is an accurate reflection of the current market price for this retired model. Would anyone be able to provide a fair approximation on what the Tornado is worth today? Thanks!

I recently bought one privately for around $25 and have seen them go on ebay in the UK for similar prices... sometimes up around $35-40.

Re: Latest FM acquisition

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies and PMs. Much appreciated. Now that I have a better picture of the cost of these beauties, I will have a busy summer checking eBay for FM planes.

Sorry AA -- there was another that ended hours later and it closed at $76... looks like this model has dipped a bit in value. I had it years ago and sold it off as it was a bit too "ecclectic" for my tastes at the time, now I want it for its uniqueness... what can I say, I'm a fickle b#%stard!

Re: Latest FM acquisition

I was on that one Pappy and yes it is a good deal. I saw it but was really eyeing the Norma that went for $45. I'm not sure which of the boys was screaming but I was "unable to snipe". Bummer. I have one I'm after now that if when I get it and show you I will add new meaning to the term "good deal".
