Re: Latest FM acquisition

Tarheel Hal and Norma just touched down... very Pics when I can get to 'em...

Norma gives NGNG a run for its money -- but NGNG is still tops in my book.

Re: Latest FM acquisition

My NGNG doesn't look that cool in the box. Should I take it out?

I was planning to sell the thing. I have the Corgi already... Darn you Pappy!

Prices are down for it on ebay might want to hold it for a bit... and yes, it's much cooler out of the box (JP's just went for $70... )

I have been looking at all the pictures I can find of FM P-47s. It appears that NGNG does not have the 'more' extensive stenciling that Angie, Gabby, Eagleston, etc. have. Also, the 2008 releases and RG appear to have no stenciling.

Pappy, you may have the most FM T-Bolts now and are probabably most expert on them; is this correct? What are your thoughts about the stenciling? To my eye, those with the stenciling "look" just a bit more detailed. Yes?

My NGNG does have the least stenciling, it like my Angie, Norma, Tarheel Hal, and Testa Indiano, are all CDC releases but those last 4 do have more small stencils with printed matter (some pad-printed, some stickers). Not sure if more recent versions of NGNG may have more.

My RG, my only recent release -- not sure if its 2006, 7, or 8 as FM doesn't print the date on them like CDC did -- has less stenciling than the Angie, et al. But more than the NGNG -- maybe just one or two markings the NGNG doesn't have.

EDIT: the Testa is also a more recent release though it has more stencils than RG, so we have the "box of chocolates" syndrome again... or as you might say "box of turds" ?

Yes, I'd agree that those with more stenciling look a tad more detailed, as they should, but from my standard viewing distance of 4-6 feet I don't know if I can tell the difference.
