Another impressive selection of models you picked up. I like the B-17 in Swiss markings.

Re: Latest FM acquisition

Yes, the camo paint scheme looks good.
Concerning the Swiss B-17 IŽam a bit disappointed. The red colour is kind of bright or pale ( I hope you know what I mean )
Not to compare with the paint scheme of my Swiss Bf 109.There the red is much stronger

But they were cheap ( at least from a european point of view ) so I will not complain.

That Swiss (interned 15th Air-Force) B.17 looks wonderful.

I've had the RAF B.17 in front of me before now & didn't buy because the nose join was nasty.

That Desert Heinkel's neat, too.

Re: Latest FM acquisition

Okay, my current FM quest is to have only pad-printed PHantoms in my collection, which meant I had to sell my first FM F-4 purchased -- the Olds Scat (B11B169) . An original CDC release the nose markings were stickers, as were the kill flags. Everything else was pad-printed I think.

So I sold it on ebay and lucked out -- the next week a new release of the model was up on ebay and I won it for the same price I sold my original for.... and the new version is all pad-printed with the smaller wingtip fueltanks and a centerline tank included as well.... Looks much better, I'll post pics when I can.

Does anyone know if FM corrected all of its F-4s in this manner -- ie all the ones that were released with the centerline tanks on teh wingtips have been rereleased with more accurate wingtip tanks and a centerline tank option?

Re: Latest FM acquisition

Pappy, I have the "all pad-printed with the smaller fueltanks" Robin Olds Phantom as well. IIRC, someone had posted a thread on the old MH1 about the change in fueltank size and shape
and were incorporated with all the reissued Phantoms by FM. That's as much as I can recall, but I know somebody might have a better information out there...

Do any of you have some photos of the all black RAF Eurofighter. Is the canopy ok?

Re: Latest FM acquisition

I've been hitting the FM stocks pretty hard lately and have only started to take some pics (yes Pappy, with the new light tent - and your tutelage ). Excuse the camera work!

B22B581 : Free French Air Force Hurricane Mk.IIB (Tropical)

I think it has a great 3-tone camo scheme and the markings and fuel tanks appear to be correct from what I was able to research. I still don't like the glare guards above the exhaust stacks and wish FM would stop placing them on all their Hurricanes.

B11E177 : Japanese Navy Air Force, Type 52 Zero

Since I don't see myself buying a Marushin Zero anytime soon, this fit the bill. The camo looks better in person (Pappy hates it, but he hates all FM Zeros). I like it and it looks great alongside my other 1:48 Jap. aircraft.

B11E090 : Royal Canadian Air Force F-104

I'm really jazzed with this model as it looks fantastic! I'm really happy with this one.
