Thumbs up Re: Fm Old Crow Signature Photo's

That looks cool . The landing gear doors look the right size too (no high waters).

Re: Fm Old Crow Signature Photo's

I've seen a version of this with a largely silver body and wings - just the top of the 'nose' is green - FMB590. Which is historically correct? And, does the silver version have the same level of detail as the one shown?

I'm not sure, but I thought both paint schemes were actually used.

You are correct. I have an interview on VHS of Bud Anderson apeaking about this very subject. More specifically, he was heaping praise on his ground crew. After completing a mission, he casually mentioned that with winter setting in, it was time to change the C/S from Green to Silver. The following day, he goes to the aircraft and finds that it no longer green, but silver. Apparantly, the ground crew had spent the whole evening washing the 'stang down with gasoline to remove the green paint.

"Bloody Ants" was the term he used to describe his ground crew (with a huge amount of admiration when he said it).
