Input regarding RN Martlet?

How accurate is the camo scheme for the new Royal Navy Martlet? Any opinions on this model would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Input regarding RN Martlet?

Well it sure is green. Would need a repaint in proper colours.

Colors of the model look a bit better in the pre-pro shot you provided.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

Re: Input regarding RN Martlet?

The actual aircraft looks just like the prepro - not the "box art". This is another example of poor color density and there should be no excuse in this wonderful age of digital.
I have also noted color shifts in ebay images and manufacture's box art. I assume a bright image appeals to new buyers.

Re: Input regarding RN Martlet?

Wow! BIG difference. Thanks for the pic AA.

I agree Art. You would think they would do their best to accurately portray the colors in their box art and advertising pics. That's what will be on the reseller web sites in most cases. Unless you know where to ask (as I did here), you might blow-off a nice model because it looks so horrible in the pics. The pic I used came from Franklin Mint itself (and is used on the Mule's site which many of us refer to, at times, for the photos).

Looks like I need to order this now.

Re: Input regarding RN Martlet?

Flying Mule does not yet have stock but when they do we hopefully will see accurate color plus multiple views. FYI the F4F Black 4 Atlantic scheme model has a lighter
gray and white compared to the box art. The heads on views used for many Franklin Mint aircraft box art are useless....you need some color profile books or the great
cooperative image postings by forum members to aid the buying decision. I also use Tricatus for Corgi......get me that RCAF white Catalina next.

The colours in the picture in post No.1 are truly awful.

The colours in the picture in post No.3 however look Excellent & very accurate to me.

Chalk & cheese indeed.

I say old sport, "chalk & cheese?" Is this an expression from the Mother Country?
