Re: Opinions: FM He-111 BOB

Pappy, isn't mumbling questions to yourself, and than answering them, a sign of insanity??

You're probably right, Capt'n -- I suppose it is.. (now, do I really do that a lot.. I wonder.??)

Re: Opinions: FM He-111 BOB

Because of YOU LOT and your 'sage' opinions, I just ended up buying a FM Battle of Britain 1/48 He111 at the 'Mule' sale - international shipping ($45) is also less than that for the 1/72 Corgi Ju 52 .

Cardo, where do you put all these big models?

A case of 'eyes bigger than stomach' actually as I really don't have the space to display everything I would like to - I try and tell myself that someday the space will be there ... pretty delusional I suppose .

(As for the 1/48 BoB He111 I bought, it was apparently out of stock due to an inventory issue so I ended up cancelling it rather than waiting for it to be back-ordered - for the best actually as I have no clue where I would actually put a rather large 1/48 He111 no matter how good it looks .)

Re: Opinions: FM He-111 BOB

That's good thinking Cardinal. I also crave a FM Heinkel, the torpedo one, but have no place for it. Granted it would be like $80 shipped not your silly South Pacific price, but still.

Re: Opinions: FM He-111 BOB

As the He 111 isn't exactly historically significant I've held off buying this model...

Ha ha just waiting for "my" livery!

Ha Ha! I can relate!

Size was the reason I gave up my He 111. As nice as it was, I really did not want to invest in shelfing space needed to accomodate it. So... I decided to go for Corgi's He 111.

Elmer, how does the 1/48 FM He111 compare with the 1/72 Corgi version (which I'm very fond of) with regard to 'rivet detail' and overall accuracy - is the larger version substantially better?
