FM F/A-18 Special Canadian Versions

Hi all! It appears as though I've been able to secure 1 pc of each of the 3 Special Versions of the F/A-18's that The Franklin Mint produced ONLY for the Canadian market in 2007. Each model is a very-limited run of only 400 produced and comes with it's own numbered plate!!

These aircraft are beautiful even to a prop-lover like me and at only 400 pcs each they should be quite difficult to find in the future.....What do you FM/Armour collectors think?? Thanks, Danny

Re: FM F/A-18 Special Canadian Versions

Congrats -- they look pretty sweet, particularly the middle pic. Never owned a FM F-18, but they look good -- which is something I can't say for most of the other FM jets I've owned (aside from the A-10).

I think I've seen the bottom version in a local hobby shop in my neck of the woods. $70-80.

Re: FM F/A-18 Special Canadian Versions

Hey Pappy! thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it! I haven't seen any of these before so I wanted to get some feedback from you collectors....I remember the old CDC Armour days and the rumors of some very-limited runs by them but I really wasn't to sure about FM?? I do prefer the props but hey, there's nothing wrong with a little "heavy-metal" too! Have a good one Pappy and keep the sun at your back!

Hello Stukadan
These 3 birds were the first FM Hornet I got (I just started collecting). I was able to get the same serial numbers for all 3 ! Since then, I found the other 3 limited Canadian hornet, so I've got them all. I have to say, the tigermeet is one of my favorite even though the tiger stripes do not align on the nose (visible on your picture).

Re: FM F/A-18 Special Canadian Versions

Hey CUPN! I'm glad to see someone else on the forum has them and thanks for sharing....Like I said, I've always collected the props but I thought these were just to nice to pass on. With the low run of only 400 make sure you hang onto the boxes and other items because these will be very difficult to find in the future.....By the way, "welcome to the world of collecting!" isn't it fun????

Yeah kinda old hat.
They have been around for a while now. Nice none-the-less.
Now you need the Millenium Bird and the overall grey paint scheme.

Re: FM F/A-18 Special Canadian Versions

Hey stukadan,
thumps up for these ones.
I just received a quotation from a canadian dealer this morning for all 4 CF-18 plus shipping to Germany.
B11E633 F-18 Maple Leaf
B11E632 F-18 Tiger
B11E631 F-18 Hornet 720
B11E337 F-18 Millenium.
Will be costly.
I have the Golden Hawks F-86 already on display.
I donīt think that I will order all 4, maybe just one or two

Hey AA!! Great to hear from you.....How many planes do you have in your collection??? These do look pretty nice and will be the only modern planes in my collection thus far.....
