Re: Franklin Mint/CDc Armour Stuka's

I too like the Brewster! the 1/72nd is great for displaying.....I did have several of the Corgi Stuka's and LOVED the detail but, like foll, I sold them....

I predominantly collect 1/72nd scale, but do have some 1/48th scale models in my collection. My favorite would have to be HMs Brewster Buffalo with regards to 1/48th scale, and I have just a whole bunch of favorites in 1/72nd scale. Have you any of Corgis Ju 87s? I have four and think they are pretty nice pieces.

Have to agree with you on 1/72nd scale, just the right size , and easy to display. Scale still offers pretty good detail for its size.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

In 1/72nd scale I have Corgi, Dragon, Gemina Aces, and some of the IXO pieces too. In 1/48th scale I have Hobby Master, Marushin and Franklin Mint pieces. I have the first Franklin Mint Rufe floatplane and really like that one. I glad that there are a few solid companies out there putting out some really nice looking decast.

Re: Franklin Mint/CDc Armour Stuka's

Sounds like you have a very nice collection! The lines you collect are all quality......The Rufe is very nice, I agree and I really like the IXO's too...I don't yet of any Hobby Master but they look to be very nice. The quality of diecast and companies that produce good ones have both improved and the collector now has several choices.....

Welcome to a GREAT forum, stukadan! As regards theodore's comment on Skunky, I do not believe he will be posting anytime soon, if ever again, unfortunately.

Re: Franklin Mint/CDc Armour Stuka's

Welcome to the forum, stukadan. I think you will find many interesting threads, pictures, etc. to stimulate your thinking. Since you seem to be into the 1:48th scale, I endorse Cruver's recommendation of the Hobby Master F2A Buffalo. But also check out Carousel 1's BF-109E and ,especially, the FW-190D. I have the "Yellow 10" version of the latter, which is outstanding. It lacks a stand, which bothers some, however I merely pose it on its extended undercarriage, which works just fine for me.

Re: Franklin Mint/CDc Armour Stuka's

And thank you too Epapazian! What a great welcome i've gotten and it swonderful to be around so many who share the same hobby! I can't tell you how happy I am.....I'm going to take your advice. I've been pretty much a Corgi and CDc Armour guy but there are so many other companies that are putting out quality products that i do need to expand my horizons. The Carousel line looks outstanding but I'm not yet familiar with Hobby Master.......................Danny

Re: Franklin Mint/CDc Armour Stuka's

For what it's worth, I just saw the Spanish Civil War FM Stuka up for bids on eBay. Latest offer was $178. The seller is dknyc91.
