No, the PBY's didn't show up in this shipment. I'll post some photo's when they do if someone else hasn't.

Re: A FEW PHOTO's OF THE NEW FM's

Regarding HM's latest Rufe, the kit-make pictures posted by CC, which appear to depict the same plane, show the identical shade of gray ( JN Gray? ) on the upper and lower surfaces. This makes a lot more sense than the Japanese taking the trouble to mix a lighter, yellowish hued gray do do a bit of upper surface patterning. More likely, the whole plane started out in gray and green was added later.

Shame the paint scheme on the FM model was not a little bit closer to the kit version.

Kind of makes you wonder how they could have made that kind of an error.

Good question. How disappointing. At least they added the antannae mast. Rock... obviously, the canopy was molded in two separate parts, but I am wondering if FM attempted a "quick" fix by glueing the parts together? Can you confirm? Regardless, it doesn't look right. It could be, and should be, a fix for future releases.

Elmer, I just got this P-47 from Rockjock (thanks Roger!) and the canopy actually comes off at the midsection. It's in three pieces with the front and rear glued to the fuselage while the mid section comes off (it doesn't slide). Don't know why they did this but the rest of the plane looks awesome. I'll post some more detailed pictures if I have some time!

Thanks, trex. Kind of a bummer for me. I love this livery, but I won't be able to overlook this egregious error. I get the impression that the model makers at Franklin Mint are sometimes not in love with their subjects. If they were, this type of error would not have happened. I hope they fix this on future releases. By the way, how many exposed screw heads? I assume they are in the gear wells, but any on the underside of the fuselage?

2 exposed in the fuselage and 2 in each wheel well. Here you go Elmer:

JP, Ask and you shall receive. BTW I kinda thought about the canopy and decided to try something. I pried the rear portion off and am thinking of gluing it to the mid section to make it one piece....problem solved. It took me all of 10 seconds with an xacto knife too.
