NEW FM P-47C "fearless dick"

Okay, so the middle section of the canopy sits loosely between the front and rear sections, as feared -- was this ever correct for any version of the T-bolt to anyone's knowledge. IF not, this is a real head-scratcher of an error, even for FM.

Pappy, the loose middle canopy section of FM's razorback variant is total and complete fantasy!!! I can see the designer of the jug being very pissed-off!

That's what I was 99.9% sure of, but wanted to hold out .1 of hope that there was some variant somewhere that had this config. I did see some profiles online with what looks like a P-51B style bubble canopy...

Ah well, let's see if they fix it with the next release. Too bad, as the rest of the bird looks pretty good, too.

It looks pretty good in Rockjocks photos (besides the seam where there shouldn't be one, but there are plenty of other manufacturers with seam problems).

To me it looks really bad -- the canopy just kills it for me, you can tell the middle section is separate from the rest, which shouldn't be the case, and the rails don't line up as they should. Hopefully, they'll fix this with any repaints. Fingers crossed.... The pic you quoted below it looks okay from that angle, but the left side looks more glaring to me.

The mirror is also in the wrong place... I noticed that on the pre-pro, but just thought it was a fluke.. Guess not...

This got me into thinking that maybe this whole canopy issue could be easily remedied by using a stock 1/48 Monogram kit of the P-47 "razorback" that I have stached somewhere?

maybe but my inability to paint canopies well is one of the reasons I'm so into this "pre-made" stuff This is just FM telling me to save my money!

Could also go with Falcon Industries USAAF, WWII Canopy Set which has a P-47D razorback vacuform canopy.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.
