Pics: FM P-47D "Rozzie Geth II"

After I sold off my Corgi 8th Air Farce set, I had to replace the P-47, as it was the only reason I wanted that set in the first place.... with the only other version I am aware of, FM's. I got this model during the recent FM stock dump, for $30... and I was quite happy with it. Until I noticed those silly kill flags... apparently we've got a bunch of models here in the states that were earmarked for more PC markets. Ah well, it's still a pretty livery.

Oh, almost forgot... the Elmer Pic Look closely by the first recessed screw and you will see where some of the body paint tore off when I removed the protective plastic that prevents the screws used to keep the model steady in the packaging from scratching the model. D'oh! Silly FM....

Pappy, it must be easy enough to get decals for those kill markings. I got the ones from Badcat for some of my planes and if you follow the sage advise of some of our members, you can't even tell really.

I have the 2 Corgi fighters only from the 8th set and while the P-51 is in some box, the T-bolt is proudly displayed.

I bet the Jugs are even more impressive in 1/48.

Nice shots, Pappy.

Now why oh why did FM think that each landing strut needed two.. yes count 'em... two screws each? Wouldn't one hold 'em? I mean... I know the plane is a heavy beast, but c'mon!

Perhaps two screws for alignment and no shifting? This P-47 is the only one I own.........

Perhaps... but I think one would do the job nicely. Actually, glue would be better... then no more screwheads!

Perhaps, but I prefer screws to C1's magnet approach -- none of my 109s sit right... they all sag a bit. C1 models should have fixed gear IMHO. Least this bird is very sturdy on its feet!

Nice shots Pappy! I've been contemplating getting the RG but after seeing your photos I think I'll pull the trigger. I was dumb enough to give my only other 48 scale Jug (Gabby Gabreski's) away a couple years ago.
