Pics: FM MiG-17 "Col. Tomb/Toon/Bugs Bunny"

Catalog number E201 (must be some UK overstock? ) -- got during the recent FM stock dump... Like it overall, though the actual pilot of the MiG is open for debate... did he exist or was Tomb/Toon all a big PR stunt? Who knows for sure, really, but some poor sap was flying this bird when it got shot down by Mr. Cunningham... was it Bugs? Maybe... regardless, here are the pics:

Yes, this bird likes to sit on its tail... but it will stay on all three "feet" if you don't breathe on it, that is.

Now for the "Elmer Shots"...

Yes, there is a bit of a horizontal stab issue, but it's relatively easy to fix -- I show all my models as they come to me "out of the box" however.

Here ends the Elmer Shots -- let's take a look at the cockpit, shall we?

I love this warbird. Thanks for the great pictures as usual, Pappy! However, there is a glaring inaccury issue with this particular diecast that just bugs the hell outta me! See attachment below.

Thumbs up Re: Pics: FM MiG-17 "Col. Tomb/Toon/Bugs Bunny"

I bought this one too and really like it. Mine doesn't have the tail problem and it sits pretty firm on all three gear. I actually had them check the plane before I bought it to make sure it wasn't a tail sitter because I had heard some of them were.

Not sure if I'd call that "glaring" but I suppose I can see how it may be to someone else Have a pic of the real deal to illustrate how they should look?

Thanks for the 411 Fly!

Looks pretty good to me. They line up with the flat on the trailing edge. Pappy, do you have a view looking straight down from the top? Maybe I could see it better then.

Thanks for the "Elmer shots" Pappy! Much appreciated. I have been tempted by this one. How deep is air intake?

WYSIWYG. No intake detail.

Re: Pics: FM MiG-17 "Col. Tomb/Toon/Bugs Bunny"

Well, I've been going back 'n forth between the pics of the model and the real deal and to be honest the fence rails look to be in the right spot to me...but what does appear to be a "glaring" flaw are those horizontal stabs.
