Yes you have Pappy: Showtime 100. FM/A can do it and make it look nice. Just one of those small details it should do for 1:48 and usually doesn't.

I agree with you, Elmer. Like your fondness for the intake fan blades, the 'stencil' warnings and markings would enhance the look of Showtime 100 for me as well.

Re: FM/A F-15 Eagle B11E757 Israeli Air Force

I'll pass on the F-15 for the reasons already mentioned by others in this thread, but the Mirage looks very good, even given the few quibbles here and there. I'm definitely getting that one!

I guess enough customers complained about the shape of the first Mirages, and FM actually listened! I wish they'd do that more often.

Re: FM/A F-15 Eagle B11E757 Israeli Air Force

I looked at the pictures of the FM Mirages at TFM this evening. I can't tell that the spine curvature has been fixed on the two new releases (real hard to tell without profile shots). Are you boys certain the spine has been fixed?

Edit: I backed up in this thread a bit, and took a looksee at the pics fly posted. The pics are a bit small / distant, but yeah, it does appear there is less curvature... but still hard to tell without closer profile shots. I must admit, I am suspicious about this... when has FM ever corrected a mold issue?

Cool Re: FM/A F-15 Eagle B11E757 Israeli Air Force

ZS,

Mirage no.159 was flown by many Israeli pilots including Giora Epstein. Not only was he the IAF's leading ace, he is the world's leading jet ace with 17 kills.

Thanks Tundra04, great insights.

Actually Elmer, it does seem to have been corrected and looks much, much better now.

Yeah, I'm sure. Looks good now as far as the spine. I'm frankly amazd FM did that, but good on them!

There are probably still some visible screws on the undersides, just for you, though...

Good one! Actually, go back to Mark's threads with the pictures he posted for the first two releases... last year. The undersides are clean, look good (except of course the mounting hole).

Question Re: FM/A F-15 Eagle B11E757 Israeli Air Force

Okay found some...I'll let you be the judge, FWIW.

So, is this a training scheme or not?

Re: FM/A F-15 Eagle B11E757 Israeli Air Force

No, that is not a training scheme...It's a 101 Squadron Mirage with recognition markings during the Yom Kippur War. They had to stand out since Libya was flying Mirage V's.

Update: As I stated earlier, Giora Epstein flew this plane, but only achieved one of his 17 kills in this aircraft. According to the Isradecal Publication 101 - Israeli Air Force First Fighter Squadron (I don't know why I didn't check this first) 11 different pilots contributed to the total kills shown on 159. In other words, she got around ;-)

Killing threads since 2006.
