I am thinking about picking up one Franklin Mint F-14 and F-15, specifically the VF-1 Wolfpack Tomcat and the 419th TFW Green Dragons Eagle. I'd like to know if any of you fellas have either (or both) and what your opinions are of these models. Are they the FM versions accurate(enough), worth picking up or should I go for another livery or forgo the FM versions completely?

I already have an early Tomcat (VF-84/103? Jolly Rogers) and a 2007 Streak Eagle. I'm lukewarm about the Tomcat and like the Streak Eagle but want a deployed F-15. I don't really want a two seater for the F-15 so the D-E's are out.

Hi Trex,

I wouldn't recommend the Wolfpack F-14. Of my nine Tomcats I find it among the least favourable. I would recommend The Black Knights, Bombcat and Bedevilers.

As for the Green Dragons F-15: I am not sure if I've seen it in the flesh. So no advice here.

Try to get the older F-15s The Lakenheath and Oregon ANG versions are very good.

I agree with Armour Addict. The older Lakenheath F-15C (Grim Reapers) is an amazing model, but good luck trying to find it. I paid quite the premium to acquire this model. In regards to the Tomcats, the Black Knights is pretty impressive, as is the Bedevilers. Also, I'd recommend the Grim Reapers or the Flir Cat too. All of these will be costly to oyu though, as they are rarer versions. Happy Hunting!
