Thumbs down Fm 2008=boooooooooooooo!

Go figure, FM/Armour decided a long time ago I guess that aircraft like the weak Mirage were more important than planes like the A-6 Intruder or F-111, or A-4, or F-5 to name a few. I don't get it. Am I the only FM nut that longs for these planes? Nothing is more appealing to me than the thought of a big, beautiful Aardvark from the 48th TFW, or a classic A-6. PLEASE FM, GRANT ME THESE JETS!

Blimey, you & me BOTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Lakenheath F.111 in T.O.114 Camoflage = YES PLEASE.......

Be like a 'King-Sized' nostalgia-trip, for me........

Gotta admit though, I'd rather see 'em done by another Manufacturer !!!!!!!!!

BTW, welcome to the forum !

Re: Fm 2008=boooooooooooooo!

Yeah, sure, I was disappointed too. And how about an F-8 Crusader? An F-105 and F-106? And to think I actually thought, at one time, we'd get an SR-71. But no.

I do understand the need for many different possible liveries for most models to be viable commercially, but still...

Having said that, if FM can't do a better job of respecting an aircraft's basic shape than they did on the Mirage III, then they shouldn't bother. I like many of FM/Armour's models, but that one was just horrible. And I'm also disappointed with their Langley/1FW F-22A. The paint job is inaccurate, and apparently they again failed to paint the inside of the cockpit. That's inexcusable in a $105 model.

So yes, give us new jets, but please put a little care into it.

Yep, For sure !!!!!!!!!

That makes you, me & F.V.D. not to mention about a million others !

Much as I love their F.15-E's, I'd have the "Good-Ol' Days" back anytime, in preference !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've put out a couple I took at 'L.N.' back in Aug '92, when I travelled down on the bike in my 'Avatar'.

I've got numerous others, but, once they're posted in a thread, ya can't re-post/re-use 'em, so I'll put some other images in my personal-pix folder, later this year.

Other shots include "Miss-Liberty" the 48th' C/O 'ship'

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Excuse me, weak Mirage? Are we talking FMs poor attempt at one or the aircraft itself? The Mirage III is a combat verteran of note.

Lucky, Lucky, Lucky Man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lost count over how many times I've stood at 'L.N.' beside her (literally) 'droolin' over her !!!!!!!!!!!!

got some nice shots, but, invariably, with MANY legs passing by, in the Warm-Summer weather (stood waiting for 10mins, but, no-chance !!!!!!!! just way too busy !)

Loved that 'bird' so much, I went out & bought the 1/48th scale markings that included her serials & 'nose-art' !!!!!!!!!

Also bought a nice sheet with the 20th's "June-Nite" , which carried the EXACT same 'nose-art' as on of the 20th's 'wartime' P.51's

There's STILL an F.111-E at Lakenheath, mounted on a plinth, painted-up as 'Miss-Liberty', but I was told that she wasn't the 'Real-Deal' by my American 'Ex'-Major IPMS colleague/friend - can't understand why SHE can't wear her original serial No. ???????????

Hi and welcome to the funny farm!

I'd love to see an Intruder or Aardvark. It's wait and see from year to year.

Anyway from the 2008 line-up these have at least potential for me:

FM E741 AC-47 GUNSHIP
FM E757 F-15 IAF
FM E772 F-16H
FM E760 "RED FLAG" F-22 RAPTOR
FM E761 TORPEDO BOMBER HE-111
FM E775 ISRAEL AIRFORCE MIRAGE IIICD
FM E736 PBY-5A NAVY CATALINA

But I'll have to see them first before I spend any $ on them.

Cheers,
AA
