Re: MIG-17 size vs.F-4J Phantom

I thought the real SCAT was lost after Olds left the theater.

He had more than one F-4 named Scat. The one in the NMUSAF collection is the one that he shot down two MIGs with.

Fact Sheets : McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II : McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: MIG-17 size vs.F-4J Phantom

Also noticed that the MiG is painted to represent the one supposedly flown by Col. Toon/Tomb, is that mentioned on the board in front of the MiG?

I think it goes into that on the sign. I am not sure, but I think that this Mig was given to us by Egypt as a peace offering.

Very cool pics guys. After watching the history channel, did Col. Toon/Tomb even exist?

What a great picture that is! I just got done watching Dogfights and they had this exact matchup. I have a 1:100 F-4 (Made by "Armour" Model 5042) and I would like to get the MIG-17 with the same color scheme as the one in the pic. Anyone know where I can get this diecast model that includes a stand with no fixed landing gear? I found one for only $15 but it has a different color scheme.

Thanks for this pic!!!

Nick
