Something strange about my new Rozzie Geth II P-47

Picked this one up on sale -- always liked the scheme and sold off the Corgi version a while ago so I wanted to replace it in 1:48...

Got it and plunked it on the shelf without taking a super-close look at it but something struck me as odd about it.... took another look at it today and noticed the kill flags do not have swazis in them -- but rather strange substitutes consisting of four cubes (will post pics later....).

I didn't get it at the flying mule, but another U.S.-based online vendor.... the Mule's pics look like they have swazis in the flags. Anyone else have this bird and can shed some light? My other FM fighters have swazis in the kill flags, such as Gabby's P-47.... what's going on here?

Did I get a model that should have been sent overseas or something?

maybe you got one of those models meant for the german market.
you should look at the serial number somwhere on the package, i remember a G prefix meant no swastikas...

Other than the swaztikas, how do you like the model? That is one I have been considering since I also sold off my 1:72 version.

Other than that issue, it's a great model -- the P-47 is one of FM's better models IMHO... and for $30 I can live with the swazi issue. (You really can't tell from normal viewing distance, but i must say it does bug me a little.)

I sold off my Corgi 8th AF Set to thin out the herd, so to speak, before my recent move -- always planned on getting this as a replacement as the P-47 was why I bought that Corgi set in the first place.

If you do get one, ask the vendor before you buy it about the swazis...

It's ridiculous. You know, there was a C-47 that was covered in swazis during the war, to celebrate a certain unit's total kills. I would love to convert an FM C-47 to this plane and would delight in marking it as accurately as possible.

Hey, Pappy...

Can you throw up some pics of this model? (Include the underside, please... )

I'll try to do some pics up right over the next couple of days.... I was told by the vendor that all of their Rozzie Geths were like this, somehow they got overseas stock.... he said I can exchange it or get a refund, but I don't know if I'll bother.

I mean, I got it for $30 if I go and ship it back, the replacement will in effect cost me another $10-$15 in shipping fees.... are swazis worth it?

Hmmmm.....

Pappy, I may have the decals for that bird. Lemme look and if I still have it, I'll send you it + a $10 discount coupon to Domino's Pizza take out.
