That does look more than a little bit off. Hope you can fix it up with some new decals.

Re: Something strange about my new Rozzie Geth II P-47

Pappy, methinks you got the Domino's Pizza promotional version. Sorry, dude......

When I asked the retailer about it he checked the other two models of this bird he had in stock, all had the same "domino's" decals.... Are there any of our overseas members that have this model out there that can comment if this is how theirs looks? I can only surmise that this is the standard PC swazi treatment outside the U.S. market??

Looks more like the Yahtzee version.
Is this another version of Politically Correct crap?

I think FM got this pattern design from a Japanese Kimono???

Looks like you can take care of the 'kill' marks real easy actually, get a very fine black sharpie and a dab of white paint for the swazis. Would be better than sending it back .

Looks like a pair of 'snake eyes'. Guess they got this idea from a long weekend in Vegas baby...

Re: Something strange about my new Rozzie Geth II P-47

Thanks for the pics, Pappy!

I have been curious about the P-47 mold for some time; I gotta share this experience:

Most FM/A models I have seen in the flesh, but the P-47, I hadn't... until today. There is a local web-only-store in town that will sometimes let me see a model (depending upon the sales associate at the front desk). I stopped in today and asked if I could look at an FM/A P-47. She told me no. I pressed her a bit, and while so doing, I looked at the floor by her feet and saw an FM/A box. She noticed I was looking at it, so she offered it up. Lo and behold, it was B11C998, Bloom's Toom. It had been returned because of a busted prop. She let me take it out of the box and inspect it.

Here are my .02: The mold is nicely shaped, the seams are not bad and it looks rather impressive... from a distance. Get up close and the detail underwhelms. The panel lines are not crisp. There is no rivet detail. The engine detail is bland (compare to an EI Texan or C1 Wildcat for example). There are no recessed intake openings (other than the engine cowl), no working features, and, six exposed screw heads, two recessed and four protruding. My curiosity was instantly cured. I don't find this mold any more impressive than most FM/A molds. I rate it below the P-38, Fw 190A, and Me 262. I badly want a P-47 in 1:48 scale, but not bad enough to display a mediocre to average piece such as this. I will cough up $100.00 for the Tamiya Masterworks T-Bolt, or settle for Dragon's fine 1:72 scale T-Bolt offerings.

Now some will say that another company cannot do another Bubbletop P-47D, because it will not sell with the existing FM/A stuff on the market. Why? Look at all the collectors ready to dump their Corgi Phantoms for the new Hobby Master offering. Century set the diecast world on fire with its F-14s, despite three other companies having F-14s on the market. Yes, these are 1:72 models... a larger market. But it appears to me 1:72 collectors are savvy enough to demand higher quality and speak with their money. Hell, a 1:72 CW Tomcat sells for $60.00! Nearly the cost of a 1:48 model. Are 1:48 scale collectors any less savvy and any less ready to dump their mediocre FM/A models for better ones?

Same thing always happens to me too, Elmer.. ...the sequence of events is usually reversed, however.
