Re: Bf-109

Perhaps there is a site that shows all Armour with images ever listed?
I know there are several discontinued aircraft I might "search" for...........

It's a REAL shame if there ain't - YES, I often check the 'Mule' site, but usually only certain Cat-No.'s are shown.

I was in a warehouse the other day, wandering round stacks of 'F.M.' 1/48th & was rather amazed to see stuff I never knew existed

By chance, I came upon a Lovely F.4-U Corsair, (B.216) "Daisy-Jane" which I was so impressed with, I bought.

I'd never seen it before & didn't know it existed, so what a pleasant suprise, in markings I really like.

Conversely, on the subject of the 'F.M.' Bf-109 - I was holding, looking at, & intending to buy the 'Italian' 109-G.......

Without having read or heard any reviews about these, two things struck me, as I pondered whether to buy, or not......

1st, the paint scheme is VERY well-executed, in typical RLM-74/75/76

- I REALLY liked the way it 'appeared' that the 'Balkankreuz' had been oversprayed & the Italian upper-wing 'fascist' Black roundels set in a different position........... if were down to the paint scheme alone, I would have DEFINATELY bought it.

However, with my knowledge of '109's I was rather disconcerted to see JUST HOW HIGH the Tailplanes are set, in relation to the Tail-fin !!!!!!!!!

Just didn't look right, to me, so for that reason alone, I hesitated - shame, as otherwise it looked SO nice

I guess that's where we score, with having sites like Tricatus, if we wanna buy Corgi........
Ya can pretty much scrutinise most things & form a strong/solid opinion before you buy.

That Udet/Komet-marked '109 that Parsig posted looks really nice & SOMEHOW the tailplane looks ok in that pic'

PLEASE keep them 'F.M.' pictures coming - & at different angles too.

It's LAUGHABLE just how internet searches usually bring-up some lame cartoon picture, from which you can gain basically NOTHING, bar the general colour-scheme.

We need more pix, like Ara's shots of his B.24 Liberator

Perhaps that's a major 'flaw' in 'F.M.'s marketing, till now ??????????

I know before joining this forum, I used to be dependant on seeing their products, either at Airshows (vendors sales tents/marquee's)........ OR, in display cabinets in shops like Beatties (or latterly), Modelzone, which is where I 1st saw 'F.M's B.25 Mitchell's

Re: Bf-109

Excellent commentary ! I was finding dscontinued/out of stock FM images at On Mark with box art which isn't much help. Better out of stock images were found at Aikens
which I used to validate in stock box art images at Perrys. The Mule is great for in stock images. The Web has given me most available models but the past is more difficult.

I bought the Daisy Jane Corsair and it is my favorite gull wing aircraft (today). Earlier I bought a Yat Ming 1/48 Corsair which is similar to Daisy Jane in markings.

The guys who post images are doing everyone a real service..........fortunately I can use Tricatus for my mediums/heavies in 1/72. I guess searching and learning is part
of the fun in collecting.

[quote=Art LeBrun;146020]Hi guys,

Does anyone have several images of Franklin Mint Bf-109G FMB598 they can post here? I have only the limited image from Aikens.

Thanks, Art

Art - JY here... - This courtesy of On Mark Int; Hope this helps...!! -

PS: In the future, if you simply go on Google and type in the product number of the plane you're looking for (B11B598, for example), you'd be amazed at what will pop up! While on Google, and after you've entered the information into the search box, hit "images" - you'll get a lot more!!

Re: Bf-109

Thank you for the images, John. I did the search and found Flying Mule and other box art but not On Mark. Flying Mule is great but once stock is gone the site images
go too. Aikens and On Mark leave sold out images on for awhile.....I will keep the search hint in mind and thanks again.
