Pappy, there just doesn't seem to be any evidence at all to support the existence of Col. Toon or Tomb...He seems to be about as authentic as "Washing Machine Charlie" of WWII fame....

Like I said, that's one side of the fence -- there are some vets that swear just the opposite. Is it probably a myth, yes, can we be 100% certain that it is not real? I'm not as sure as you is all. Anyhow, someone went down in flames that day... who do the North Vietnamese claim that pilot to be? (Obviously I've not researched this a ton, just read a few online accounts that say the evidence now leans to the fact Tomb did not exist, but it's still open for debate.... ).

Eihter way, the model is still a good one -- and the "myth" is a part of Vietnam history that is forever linked with Showtime 100 so it's still a cool combo to have on the shelf, I think.

Ara1 - THAT is EXACTLY why - HA sells things for full retail ("MSRP") plus 200%... - I stopped getting things from them years ago! I still get their catalogs just so I can see what's new that's being offered; other than that, I won't buy from them unless it's something I "have to have" & can't find it anywhere else...!! - JY
