Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

I have close on 40 including WWII and modern jets... I guess the question is whether you collect them for the scale and the history behind the planes or whether you're a stickler for detail. If the latter, then from comments I see on this board, FM is probably not for you. If the former (where I live), then they are a relatively inexpensive way to put together an evocative and impactful display that helps me ponder the actions of some of the bravest people that have ever lived... sometimes for only relatively short periods. Here are a few pix of my collection....

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

Well put Dusty!

FM may have plenty of nits to pick but where else is the 1:48 collector going to find the variety? If we wait around for someone else to get to all the FM molds we won't have anything to collect......

I've started to look at FM's warts from a humor angle, which helps, too.

I had 25 or so FM, sold off most of them and was down to around 10 -- now, with the current rock bottom prices on ebay and various online retailers I've been binging again and am now over 30 and counting... when will I learn? Apparently, never!

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

G'day Team,

95 and 3 on the way.

Now I got that out of the way I am astounded with Ranjets collection. I am so jealous of the Japanese F86, F4 and F15. I try to be diverse as I can with the FM planes nationalities. Ive been trying to get a Japanese Jet for about 3 years. Very Cool.
For those who are trying to get Royal Australian Air Force Planes try www.mibglobal.com.au. They are taking downpayments on the RAAF F4E Phantom II (10% I believe). I think there are 300 pieces being made. No Mirage III as they have sold out, however there will be more early next year. In addition there are still WW2 planes available now or in the near future (P40, P51 and Spitfire) and finally a couple of civilian DC-3s.

Welcome Ranjet.

Cheers

Re: How many Collection Armour's you got?

I have two. A FT P-40, as a gift, which I am not too keen on. And a Rufe, which I like lot!

Someday I will at least get me one p-47, probably the French one.

Can we try with real bullets now?

Very impressive collection there, Dustybin...and welcome to the forum my good man.

I am in total agreement with your statements above. I like all my FM models (the only 20 pieces I got) and as you said "an evocative and impactful display" is an excellent phrase that summarizes it all.
